The AFC Fylde Community Foundation welcomed Kirkham Juniors Under 9’s to Kellamergh Park, last Saturday as part of a special day out. The Under 9’s arrived two hours prior to the league clash between AFC Fylde and Harrogate Town and engaged in an array of games and activities, with The AFC Fylde Community Foundation’s coaches.

Kirkham Junior Under 9’s coach Rick Wooley was delighted with the experience and hospitality the children and parents received during their visit. The AFC Fylde Community Foundation not only ran a wide range of games and activities but also supplied free match day tickets to those involved with Kirkham Juniors. The children also took penalties against club mascot Syd the Seagull at half-time. Rick said, “It was a great experience for everyone involved at Kirkham Juniors. From the moment we arrived at Kellamergh Park, we were made to feel very welcome. The children had the great opportunity to meet players and take penalties at half-time which they were over the moon about.”

Tom Hutton, The Director of Community Development, believes the visit of Kirkham Juniors is great for the local community as it encourages active participation. “It’s a wonderful feeling having local children turn up and be so enthusiastic about simply playing football. I thoroughly hope everyone associated with Kirkham Juniors enjoyed their day.”
