The Coasters’ boss has given his thoughts ahead of this weekend’s clash with Harrogate Town, in the Buildbase FA Trophy Quarter Final.

Bentley wholeheartedly understands the frustration of supporters following the result at Dover Athletic this weekend, stating: “There’s only us who can get ourselves out of it and we need to be together.”

He continued: “We’re disappointed we didn’t play on Tuesday as the players called their own meeting amongst themselves before the game, which is always good. They had a good chat with each other and they are all determined, we’ve got a good togetherness.

“We then had a meeting as staff and had another chat with the players, there were some things said because we are all disappointed with where we are.”

Tuesday’s postponed clash with Notts County further frustrated the Manager, who is aware of the fixture congestion in the final two months of the season.

He said: “We’ve got a backlog of fixtures now, but it is what it is. We need to come out fighting.”

On the Buildbase FA Trophy match itself, Bentley states the importance that a win could have for his side, whilst admitting that the league remains the priority.

“First and foremost, we want to stay in the division,” Bentley confessed. “Yes, we want to win every game and we really want to win this as we are the holders and it could be a morale boost and give them confidence, so we are hoping to win on Saturday.

“We want to try and get back to the final and regain the Trophy. But, in my opinion, the biggest thing for us is to stay in the division this year.

Tickets are still on sale for Saturday’s Buildbase FA Trophy Quarter Final.
