New loan signing, Jack Sanders, is looking forward to linking up with the players ahead of tomorrow’s National League North clash vs Kettering Town.

This afternoon, the commanding centre-back put pen to paper on a loan deal from Wigan Athletic until mid-January, and told afcfylde.co.uk of his desire to ‘be part of something special’ at Mill Farm.

“I’m really excited to come here and hopefully get a run of games. Fylde is a really exciting opportunity for me, you only have to look around at the facilities to get a good idea of where this club can get to. The way the club is going and the way it’s run, you can see that it’s going places – I want to be a part of that.”

The 21-year old got his first taste of men’s football at Leek Town before his move to The Latics, and has since enjoyed loan spells in the National League North with Blyth Spartans and Southport.

“I think the experiences that I have had coming up through non-league have helped me, particularly the time I spent at Blyth and Southport where I gained valuable experience. For a young lad, I would say I have good experience of men’s football. If I’m honest, I tend to prefer playing in these types of games rather than the academy stuff, as I enjoy the physical side of it.

“The gaffer has reiterated several times about how well the group is playing at the minute, so it’s great to be coming to a team in form. The lads seem like a great bunch, with lots of players with experience in the football league, so if we can keep a lot of those players fit I’m sure it will be a push for promotion.

That is one of the main reasons why I joined because I want to be a part of something special and get the club moving up.”

Jack not only expressed his excitement in joining the football club but also to link back up with his former Under 23 coach, Nick Chadwick.

“Nick [Chadwick] is someone who I know very well and spent a lot of time with him last year at Wigan. He was the man that brought me into Wigan, so I will be forever grateful to him for that, but this is completely different, this is a chance for me to impress.

I’m delighted to be here, and looking forward to tomorrow night.”
