AFC Fylde star James Hardy has been called up by England C for their friendly international against Wales C.

The midfielder has shone since recovering from long-term injury, setting up the equaliser against Eastleigh on his return a month ago before netting the third in a 3-1 victory over Dover Athletic at the weekend.

Hardy burst onto the international scene in November 2016, setting up both goals in a 2-1 victory over Estonia.

It will be England’s first game at this level since they were beaten 4-0 by a strong Slovakian under-21 side in the International Challenge Trophy final last November.

Defender Jordan Tunnicliffe, who made his England C bow last May, has also been included in the contingency squad after an impressive season with the Coasters.

The match will be played at Jenner Park in Barry on Tuesday 20th March (kick-off 7:30pm).
