The AFC Fylde Community Foundation are set to launch an innovative new programme thanks to the help of Sport England.

The Foundation have received funding of £9,000 from Sport England to roll out an impressive new programme for girls called GOAL (Girls Only Activities for Life).

The aim of the GOAL project is to attract females that for various reasons do not partake in many sports or physical activities, providing the opportunity for them to get involved in a diverse range of programmes with the Foundation.

The ground-breaking programme will provide encouragement and support for girls to get involved and ease themselves into an active lifestyle.

The ‘Girls Only Activities for Life’ programme will be aimed at 18 year olds across the Fylde Coast and further afield with AFC Fylde Community Foundation working in close partnership with DNA4LIFE and Bart from the Fylde Coast Nordic Walking programme.

Thanks to these partners and the backing of Sport England, the Community Foundation will be able to offer walking netball, cardio-exercise classes, Nordic walking and many more sports based activities as part of this new programme.

Bart from the Fylde Coast Nordic Walking programme is excited to get started with the upcoming GOAL programme and said “I’m really looking forward to getting started with a a new exciting activity that is suitable for all 18+ women locally. It’s a great programme that really focuses on bridging generations through sport!”

Edyta from DNA4LIFE is also eager to begin with the new programme and said “New Year is the best time for change, it’s a wonderful time to start with a great new programme and get involved in a more active lifestyle!”
