Here at AFC Fylde we are proud to boast fans all over the globe, from Kirkham all the way to Sydney, Australia and beyond!

Now, with the help of supporters Roger Smith and Kirsty Aksoy, we could be adding a new continent to our ever-growing fanbase.

The kind-hearted duo are travelling almost 5,000 miles to Zambia in Africa later this month armed with several Fylde shirts for under-privileged children along with a host of other donations for worthwhile causes.

Roger said: “We originally visited Livingstone in Zambia for six weeks last year and since coming back to the UK we have been really keen to go back as it was the highlight of our travels so far. This time we are able to take extra luggage so we are taking things to donate.

“The shirts that the club have offered us will be great and we can’t wait to give them to the kids. Several other businesses in Kirkham have also offered donations and it’s humbling to have so much support from the local community.

“One of the items the sports coordinator over there is desperate for are goalposts and a colleague of mine Mick Eccles, an ex-Kirkham player from back in the day, has provided us with the funding for these so we are very grateful.”
