There will be plenty of fun in the sun for Fylde Coast youngsters this summer.

The school holidays will be pleasure-packed thanks to a programme of free activities provided by AFC Fylde Community Foundation.

Working in partnership with Cuadrilla and Centrica, the Foundation will be delivering an impressive summer outreach calendar that ensures children of all ages and abilities have a host of activities they can get involved in.

Days will be filled with a diverse range of enjoyable sporting activities including football, dodgeball, basketball and cricket. These will all be hosted in local parks across the Fylde Coast, providing an easily accessible, safe environment for those taking part.

The Foundation have been delivering the outreach programme throughout the school summer holidays for the past four years. During that time, it has steadily grown in popularity now with more youngsters than ever signing up to take part.

Foundation Director Tom Hutton is delighted at the way the local community has embraced the programme and says his team is already geared up and ready for the summer ahead.

He said: “The outreach programme provides a great opportunity for children that don’t normally have the chance to take part in sport to really get involved and have fun.

“The programme focuses purely on free sports and getting boys and girls of all abilities to participate and enjoy a variety of activities throughout the summer at local parks across the Fylde Coast.

“The brilliant thing about the way we structure the programme is that, the children are not only physically active but can also make new friends as well as grow in confidence during their time with us.”
