AFC Fylde Community Foundation is set to provide 17 lucky teenagers aged 16-18 from the Fylde, with the opportunity of a lifetime.

With the backing of Kepak Consumer Foods, the Foundation will be supporting the young adults to take part in a special social enterprise competition.

This will empower them to identify their own unique business ideas; devise a comprehensive business plan; and enable them to develop their ideas in the local community.

The participants set to take part will undergo a challenging business development process, whilst working alongside specialist business advisers from Kepak Consumer Foods.

The young adults will take part in crucial workshops allowing them to understand key business topics such as budgets, financial marketing, and customer service. In addition, they will also receive the opportunity to take part in graphic design sessions.

At the end of the six-week development process, each young entrepreneur will present and discuss their business ideas in front of Foundation Director Tom Hutton and Production Director of Kepak Consumer Foods James Grimston, competing to win £100 of social enterprise vouchers and continued support with developing their ideas.

James Grimston, Production Director at Kepak Consumer Foods said, “We are passionate about supporting local youth and the wider community, this programme will help to develop these young adults and give them an opportunity to challenge themselves.”

“It will be a great learning experience, providing them with a breadth of knowledge and understanding into the world of business. I am excited to see the end results when the young entrepreneurs present back their ideas and business plans”.

Foundation Director Tom Hutton is excited to get started with the unique programme and said, “This is a great opportunity for young aspiring adults. To be encouraged and supported to create and develop your own business ambitions at such a young age is priceless and something I’m confident the participants will put everything into.”

“It’s a great accolade for the Foundation to be able to deliver this programme and I’m incredibly thankful for the support of Kepak Consumer Foods for enabling us to do so.”
