It was a fantastic four days at the University of South Wales campus for our Foundation Degree students last week.

The Foundation is providing a unique opportunity to study at the home of AFC Fylde, in partnership with the University of South Wales and EFL Trust.

By studying on the two-year course, the Foundation is proud to say that it is the only charity of a Vanarama National League club to provide the programme.

Students can expect high-quality learning and the chance to gain their Level One in the first year and Level Two in the second year, as well as further options for UEFA B.

Work experience and paid opportunities are also available for students on the course, whilst a full AFC Fylde Community Foundation kit will be supplied, including coaching.

The benefits of studying for a degree at AFC Fylde Community Foundation include living at home whilst studying, which lowers living costs, not having to leave your existing job, and the chance to gain over 400 hours of real-world experience within an ambitious professional club and the Foundation.

Chris McNally, Employability and Skills Manager at AFC Fylde Community Foundation said: “The lads went down to complete the Foundation degree enrolment in Football and Development, and it was an insightful experience for them.

“The facilities were top class at the accommodation and the Sports Park.

“The lectures and coaches were on hand to help, educate and advise the students at the beginning of their two-year course. For 2024, we will also have our Business in Sport and Sports Development degrees.

“It was great to see other EFL clubs down there, and we were proud to represent the National League as its only club.”
