An activity packed fun day for staff and family members of a local business has been voted a firm success.

Organised by AFC Fylde Community Foundation to mark its strong partnership with Kirkham based Kepak Foods, the event focused on how increased physical activity can lead to improved mental health and wellbeing.

Employees and their families came together for a host of sessions including yoga classes, five-a-side football and child-friendly multi-sports activities.

The day – the first organised by the Community Foundation for the family owned global food company – was voted an overwhelming success by everyone who took part.

All the adults and children provided positive feedback on how the event had resulted in a direct improvement in their mental health and wellbeing compared to before they had taken part.

Foundation Director Tom Hutton was delighted with the positive impact the day had on the employees and their families.

He said: “AFC Fylde Community Foundation’s collaboration with Kepak Foods is a truly innovative partnership which is making a real difference to the lives of local people.

“Working together, we support hundreds of people each week to improve their physical and mental wellbeing. With this event, it was great to be able to give our partners first-hand experience of the benefits of our projects so they and their families could experience for themselves the importance of what we are achieving.

“I look forward to organising more events like this in the future for the team at Kepak Foods and their families.”

James Grimston, Production Director at Kepak Foods was delighted with the success of the day and said, “Our partnership with AFC Fylde Community Foundation is one the business is really proud to be involved with.”

“We have had an opportunity this year to get more involved in the charity side of our partnership with AFC Fylde.”

“This event was a great opportunity to engage the wider business and their families, to showcase and experience the great work the foundation undertakes to support the local community with support from our partnership.”

“It was a fantastic day, and we look forward to more events like this in the future.”
