The AFC Fylde Community Foundation welcomed Fishwick Rangers as our team visit of the week, at Kellamergh Park, last Saturday. 12 children participated in a wide range of games and activities prior to kick-off between AFC Fylde and Tamworth FC. Following the games and activities held by our coaches, squad and staff members of Fishwick Rangers sat down in their allocated seats and watched The Coasters play out a 1-1 draw. In the midst of the game, Fishwick Rangers engaged in a penalty shoot-out with club mascot Syd the Seagull at half-time. The children also performed a guard of honour welcoming both sets of players moments before kick-off.

Tom Hutton was thrilled to welcome Fishwick Rangers for the second time this season. “It was great to see the children turn up and play with so much enthusiasm. It’s important that children engage and develop their current football skill set. We are set to begin working with Fishwick Rangers in the upcoming months and this is a great opportunity to strengthen our links with them.”

Fishwick Rangers Community Development Manager Zul Hussain was delighted with the service the children got whilst visiting Kellamergh Park. “It was a brilliant day involving everyone at Fishwick Rangers. We were made to feel very welcome from the moment we arrived. The children enjoyed taking penalties on the official pitch and performing a guard of honour.”
