The AFC Fylde Development Squad begin the defence of their Lancashire League West Division title on Thursday night when they welcome Padiham to Kellamergh Park for their opening fixture of the 2014/15 season.

Andy Pilkington’s young side confirmed the title on the final evening of the season when they beat Stalybridge Celtic’s reserves 3-0 to seal the championship back in May.

Just three months after that victory they will look to begin this campaign with maximum points against a Padiham side who will make their debut in this division.

The league has been increased from 12 to 14 teams for this season with FC United’s Development Squad being transferred from the East Division, which they won, and they will face up against the likes of Hyde, Stockport County, Lancaster City and Workington once again.

Following this game the DS travel to Edgeley Park and Brocstedes Park over the next two weeks to face Stockport and Ashton Athletic respectively.

The match kicks off at 7:45pm and so come along and support our successful youngsters as they aim to emulate last season’s glories.
