AFC Fylde is delighted to announce the signing of Dan Malone from Sky Bet Championship side Stoke City until the end of the National League North season.

Adam Murray has moved swiftly to bolster his midfield and add the 20-year-old to the Fylde ranks ahead of a busy fixture schedule for the Coasters.

Dan, a central midfielder and former youth and U21 Welsh International, worked his way through the Academy system at the Bet 365 Stadium after joining the Club at nine years old.

Malone gained a good chunk of National League experience at the start of the 22/23 campaign with Altrincham FC after signing on loan until the New Year.

Discussing the addition, Director of Football Chris Beech expressed: “Dan is a player that is very technical in respect to building possession, and I’m confident his skill set will assist and support our style of play with his quality and control, passing the ball forwards and at pace.

“Having been involved with Wales U21s, Dan boosts our midfield options and will support our experienced players. As a young, hungry, ambitious player, and after speaking with Dan, he is willing to embrace himself in our culture and is excited by the challenge ahead.

“His experience at National League level during his time at Altrincham will have given him great insight into first-team football, and like most players, you learn so much from those experiences.

“I would like to thank Stoke City for supporting Dan’s loan, along with Ricky Martin (Technical Director), Dave Hibbert (Loans Manager) and Alex Neil (Manager) for their cooperation and for entrusting us to develop and enhance Dan’s capabilities for the remainder of the 2022/23 season.”

Dan will wear the number 22 shirt during his stay.

Welcome to AFC Fylde, Dan!
