AFC Fylde host Lowestoft Town tomorrow afternoon looking for a third victory of the season from their first five games. (3pm)

The Coasters picked up another three points midweek away at Bradford Park Avenue courtesy of goals from Dion Charles and Danny Rowe in a 2-1 victory. This was Fylde’s second victory of the season, the first coming at home to Hednesford Town eight days earlier thanks to goals from Sam Finley and Danny Lloyd.

Sandwiched between the two wins was a 2-2 draw at home to Gainsborough Trinity in which Dion Charles scored a brace to give The Coasters a half-time lead before a Jonathan D’Laryea brace in the second half for the away side meant Fylde had to settle for a point.

With Fylde having won half of their four opening matches, they sit in sixth position in the National North league table, just one place and two points away from the final play-off position.

Lowestoft sit eighth after two wins and two defeats from their opening four matches. They started the season with two wins from two after a 3-0 home win against Telford was followed by an away win against Alfreton three days later.

The Trawlor Boys couldn’t keep the good form going however and they have lost their previous two games. First, last Saturday they travelled to Worcester City and were defeated by two goals to one before Tuesday night’s 1-0 defeat at home to table toppers Nuneaton Town.

These two sides have only played each other twice during the time of AFC Fylde, with both games occurring last season. Lowestoft won the first game between the sides 1-0 in August 2014, but The Coasters won 3-1 in the return game at Kellamergh Park a few days after New Year earlier this year. Goals from Danny Rowe, Richie Allen and Josh Langley saw off The Trawlor Boys that day and The Coasters will be hoping for more of the same this Saturday when the sides meet again.

Of course, in the club’s previous guise as Kirkham and Wesham, the two teams met at the Twin Towers of Wembley in the final of the FA Vase, with The Coasters claiming the silverware in a 2:1 win.

TEAM NEWS

The Coasters had to take Dom Collins off against Bradford Park Avenue midweek with a dislocated finger but he should be fine for the forthcoming game. Caspar Hughes picked up a hand injury against Gainsborough and wasn’t risked midweek, but he should be available for this game on Saturday.

Jason St. Juste started his first game for The Coasters against BPA and will be looking to keep his place, while Matty Hughes came off the bench to make his first appearance in an AFC Fylde shirt in a competitive game in that match too. He will be pushing for a start along with Richie Baker and Danny Lloyd.

Dion Charles is The Coasters leading scorer so far with three goals in four games, while Lowestoft’s top scorer is Jake Reed who also has three goals.

The Trawlor Boys have former Norwich, Peterborough, Cambridge and Luton striker Danny Crow in their ranks, while Ryan Jarvis has also appeared for Norwich as well as Leyton Orient, Torquay and York City. Ryan’s brother, Rossi, is also a member of Lowestoft’s squad and he has played for Luton, Barnet and Cambridge.
