The club will be holding two charity bucket collections this week for the JE3 Foundation – the charity set up in honour of the late Leyton Orient Manager Justin Edinburgh.

Although this Saturday’s game with Ebbsfleet United was our nominated league game for collection, after talking to Chorley, the clubs decided the derby would also be a great occasion to fundraise further.

Please keep an eye out both tonight, and Saturday against Ebbsfleet, and give genourously.

Below is an extract from tonight’s match day programme, from the Manager Dave Challinor’s notes.

“Saturday was a special day, not only the opening game of the season but personally the first competitive game since the FA Trophy Final and success and Wembley.

We all remember the emotion of that day and what it meant to us all and our club.

It was, however, a game where my team and I competed against Justin Edinburgh and his team, in what transpired to be Justin’s last game as a manager as, only weeks later, Justin passed away suddenly.

Justin’s memory will live on through his family, friends and his football club but there will be many fundraising events throughout the season.

I urge you all as football fans to give generously to The Justin Edinburgh 3 Foundation, a great charity for a great cause in memory of a great football person.”

Bucket collections are taking place against Chorley (August 6th, 7.45pm) and Ebbsfleet United (August 10th, 3pm).
