AFC Fylde boss Dave Challinor was delighted with his side’s 2-0 victory over Warrington Town in the FA Trophy.

Despite missing nine first team players, goals from Danny Lloyd and Caspar Hughes sealed a place in the next round of the competition.

“It was a great victory and now we can look forward to the next round draw,” said  Challinor. “To come here with the injuries we had and put in that kind of performance was very pleasing.

“They have been flying in their league so we knew it would be tough. Similarly to us, the league is their main priority this season.

“To come and keep a clean sheet and score the goals we did was fantastic.

“We will have to assess the injuries we have next week. We currently have nine first team players out at the moment so we have been incredibly unlucky to have them all happen at once.

“Potentially five or six of them will be available next week so that would give us a massive boost. They have missed quite a bit of football, but we need numbers at the moment. If we need to bring people in then that’s what we will do.

“This game came at a good time so we could give a few fringe players some minutes and to get a win on top of that was great.”
