AFC Fylde are delighted to announce the appointment of Neil Joy as Chief Executive.

Neil brings a wealth of experience with him having been Chief Executive and Football Secretary at Oldham Athletic for the past four years where he has done an amazing job helping Oldham retain their League One status with limited resources.

Neil will join the club on October 3rd and take over from the current Chief Executive David Chell who has departed the club with immediate effect.

Commenting on the appointment AFC Fylde Chairman David Haythornthwaite said: “This appointment shows our commitment to excellence and our desire to work to the very highest standards. We talked to a lot of people during the process but Neil stood out from day one as someone who would make a great fit.

“Neil has a wealth of experience and he has been involved with Oldham for many years. Not only does he know how to run a football club but importantly how to run one where every pound is maximised and costs controlled. I am sure everyone will welcome Neil to the club and make him welcome at his new home.”

Commenting on his appointment, Neil Joy said: “I am delighted and privileged to be joining AFC Fylde in my new role and look forward to working alongside all those who have played a part in establishing the club at the forefront of the Fylde community.

“David Haythornthwaite has set out a clear vision of how he wants the organisation to progress. His enthusiasm and determination to succeed ultimately persuaded me that it was time to use my experience in the world of professional football to help him, and everyone who has a stake in AFC Fylde, to achieve his vision.

“I look forward to meeting all the staff, players, fans, sponsors and everyone connected with the club and to playing my full part in working with them to ensure that the clubs development continues.”
