Mill Farm first-timer John West and his son Kieran were two more happy customers at the weekend…
“Hi to everyone at AFC Fylde,
I just wanted to write to you as a club for the lovely welcome and hospitality shown to me and my son Kieran at Saturday’s match. We came for the very time as we were at Ribby Hall for the weekend and as we visit Ribby Hall on numerous occasions during the year we haven’t managed to sync our previous visits with your home games!
We are both season ticket holders at Wigan and love watching football in general and we felt we had to come and support you as we had never visited you before.
From Stacie sorting out our tickets and membership card for Kieran, to the past programmes sent to us so my son could get familiar with the players. We went to the Club Shop to buy my Son an orange away top on the Saturday morning of the game and although it was closed due to illness, we went to the stadium and bumped into two gents outside who asked if we were ok. We mentioned the orange top situation and one of the gents said ‘No probs, I will get one for you and you can pick up before the game’. Unbeknown to us, the two gents were the Owner of the Club and the Chief Exec!
The Chief Exec actually went and sorted a top out for my lad. I honestly couldn’t believe how nice a touch that was, please pass on my huge thank you to him as this made the day. He really wanted to wear the club colours and he hasn’t taken the shirt off all weekend!!
Anyway, thanks again, it reminded me of going to the match with my Dad and Grandad at the old Springfield Park (obviously your facilities are much much better!!), a great family feel, friendly home and away fans and a lovely atmosphere both in the Sports Bar and on the terraces.
Lovely to see you win and be part of your new record attendance, I’m sure that will be smashed time and time again!
Good luck for the rest of the season, we will be back to support you (even without Ribby Hall visits), my son is already mapping out the home and away matches! You have two new recruits that’s for sure!
