Indifferent start isn’t the end of the world for AFC Fylde!

League sponsors Vanarama have been busy assessing the season so far – and what’s ahead!

What’s the story so far?

Confidence might have been knocked abruptly by Woking on Saturday but spirits will still be high on the Fylde coast.

Hard-fought wins against Ebbsfleet and Aldershot had them on a four-game unbeaten run. As they say, it’s all about the reaction!

Dave Challinor has his say…

After the signings of Kurt Willoughby and Mark Yeates in the summer, added to a certain Danny Rowe, Dave Challinor has called for more from his attacking players.

“It was frustrating, and we need to be better in the final third – that goes without saying,” he explained.

Turning point…

It’s often said you learn more from a defeat that a win and that could well be the case for Dave Challinor after Woking hit the Coasters for four at the weekend. It’s still early days, though!

Eye-catching performer…

Scott Duxbury has continued his fine form he showed at Stockport County last season. The all action defender has played every minute of the new season.

Stat attack…

League position: 11th

Home goals for: 2

Away goals for: 4

Home goals against: 4

Away goals against: 3

Top scorer: Ryan Croasdale, Danny Rowe (2)

Ask the fans…

Plenty of questions will have been asked after Saturday’s result. Alastair (@AFielding82) sought to ask a very simple one on Twitter. “What’s gone wrong?” he said.

Coming soon…

Halifax might not be the best place to go if you’re looking to get back to winning ways. The Shay has been somewhat of a fortress so far for Pete Wild’s men, winning both games with clean sheets to boot.

Be wary of…

Jerome Binnom-Williams has impressed fans since joining from Chesterfield. His energy and endeavour have seen him become an immediate hit with the Shaymen’s supporters – he also notched his first goal against Aldershot at the weekend.

Last time out….

You’d have to go back to April 2017 for the last time the Coasters won at the Shay. More recently, Halifax took the spoils on the final day of last season after a goalless draw in their first meeting.
