In February 2010 AFC Fylde confirmed it will benefit from ambitious plans from Sports Charitable organisation called 'The Haythornthwaite Sports Foundation' (HSF) to re-locate to a new Greenlands Sports Village. The 26 acre site, located on farm land just outside Wrea Green,  was purchased by Club President David Haythornthwaite who has a vision to providing a Community Sports Facility consisting of an indoor sports centre, outdoor playing fields for local junior sports clubs in the area and a new stadium for AFC Fylde. The proposed facility will be located on the outskirts of Wrea Green close to the A583.

Public Consultations took place in Wrea Green and Kirkham on the 18th and 19th February and following the consultations all feedback from local residents, the wider local community on their thoughts on the proposal which gave them an opportunity to provide new ideas and comments on what they would like to see from this new leisure concept.

A number of local sports clubs and associations also expressed their wish to become involved in the project who will potentially benefit from such a facility and all content and feedback will be analysed to determine the feasibility for the project. Over the last few months architects, sports solutions and representatives of key stakeholders have been working on a masterplan for the scheme.

Updates on the development will appear on www.afcfylde.co.uk as soon as we have the information.
