Two wins on the bounce in the league sets Jim Bentley’s side up nicely as the Coasters turn their attention to the FA Cup Second Round.

A trip to Kingstonian awaits the Coasters on Saturday – with a place up for grabs in the Third Round alongside the Premier Leagues big hitters.

Lewis Montrose stepped up his recovery on Tuesday night, completing a good half an hour, whilst Andy Taylor and Kurt Willoughby are expecting to remain side-lined.

The Opposition

Name: Kingstonian FC

Nickname: The K’s

Ground: King George V Fields (Corinthian-Casuals Groundshare)

League: Isthmian Premier (Step 3)

League Position: 14th

The FA Cup has proved to be a great distraction from league duties for Kingstonian – with Saturday’s Second Round clash being the furthest they’ve been in the competition since 2001.

Currently, they sit 14th in the league on 18 points. After an 18th placed finish last season, this year they will be looking to steer clear of the relegation zone.

In the FA Cup, they have had to go through every qualifying round and First Round to get to where they are now.

In the previous round they were 4-0 winners over League Two Macclesfield to set up Saturday’s tie with the Coasters.

In charge of the K’s is manager, Hayden Bird. He has been in charge since May this year. Bird has also had spells with Merstham, Carshalton Athletic and fellow National League side, Bromley.

One To Watch

Louie Theophanous

This week’s one to watch is striker, Louie Theophanous.

The English striker is currently the K’s leading goal scorer in all competitions, with 13 in all competitions.

He signed for the K’s in the summer from Woking after he left them after just one season – making only seven appearances.

Theophanous has also had spells at Billericay, Chelmsford, St Albans, Sutton United and Staines.
