Ahead of the Coasters league clash with Eastleigh, Jim Bentley has given his thoughts on a big week, team preperation, and offered squad updates.

On the two long trips:

“The squad is looking good – we’ve had our staff meetings, and structured this with regards to how we feel we can all best prepare.

“With us being at home on Saturday, in another big game with Maidenhead, it’s important to get all these things right.”

On the squad:

“We’ve got no real issues at the moment, we have a couple coming back into the squad in the shape of Jamie Proctor and Tom Walker, so competition for places heats up.

“Mark Yeates will miss out again with the calf injury he’s had, and he’s disappointed to miss out against his former club – but we need to manage that in the best way.”

On Jamie Proctor:

“Jamie’s raring to go, training really well, and we feel he’s getting better and better as he settles in more and gets used to the players around him.

We’re hoping he’s on an upwards curve, and that he can have another positive performance tonight.

“With the Dorking game, we took the decision, with him not being used to playing on astro turf and the fitness levels, that we felt it was right to keep him for tonight.”

On the weekend win:

“There’s a feel good factor around the place anyway, and everyone wants to do their best and work as hard as they can.

“Like any game, it’s winnable, we have the confidence from the win at the weekend, and hopefully it’s a good night for us.

“We’ve started the week off well, and we’re hoping it’s one of those weeks where we can take all three wins.”

“It’s cranked up a bit in terms of where we are, but there’s a third of the season left, and we need to start matching points with performances.”
