AFC Fylde vs Guiseley AFC

Saturday 13th January, 2018, k/o 3pm

Mill Farm

Vanarama National League

AFC Fylde face the second of four consecutive home games tomorrow as old foes Guiseley come to town.

The Coasters have made a fantastic start to the New Year and remain unbeaten having taken ten points from their last four National League outings.

Fantastic victories over Maidenhead United, Tranmere Rovers and Bromley were followed up by a 1-1 draw against Chester at Mill Farm last time out.

Frontman Danny Rowe looked to have secured a fourth straight win for the Coasters with his 14th league goal of the season, however a defensive mix up saw Harry White level the scores.

Rowe’s header against the Blues took him clear at the top of the National League scoring charts, one ahead of Boreham Wood’s Bruno Andrade.

Fylde have history with tomorrow’s visitors after losing in the 2014-15 play-off semi-final against Guiseley – the Coasters’ first season in the National League North.

Tomorrow’s rearranged match (postponed back in November due to a waterlogged pitch) is Guiseley’s first visit to Mill Farm.

The Lions have enjoyed an extended break this week after their midweek home game against Gateshead was postponed due to a frozen pitch.

Guiseley have endured a tough season so far and currently sit second bottom, nine points adrift of safety.

However, they have two games in hand on Barrow, who are just outside the drop zone, and face the Bluebirds next weekend in a huge relegation six-pointer!

Managed by Paul Cox, Guiseley have picked up just one point since the turn of the year – a 1-1 draw against Chester – and lost 4-2 away at Eastleigh last time out.

Team news:
Full-back Jordan Richards has joined Southport, so Luke Burke and Josh Ezewele look likely to battle it out for the right-back position.

Midfielder James Hardy and Henry Jones are close to a return from injury and although this weekend’s game comes too soon, they could potentially play a part in Tuesday’s Lancashire Senior Cup game against Oldham Athletic.
