COASTERS boss Dave Challinor is very pleased with how his side have worked during their pre-season trip to Scotland.

His side had travelled to Largs, Scotland, for their pre-season work, before a trip to Glasgow to meet Scottish Championship side Ayr United.

The game finished 5-2 to Ayr United, but with two different starting XI’s in each half, the result wasn’t important for Challinor.

“It was a pre-season training session, and the lads have worked really hard this week, and deserve tomorrow off.”

“To be up here with the majority of the squad in place is really pleasing,” he continued. “Ultimately, we know where their strongest positions are, but these games give us the chance to try things in different areas.”

Danny Rowe and Dan Bradley were on the scoresheet for the Coasters in the first half, whilst the likes of Matt Kosylo, Jordan Williams and Scott Duxbury pulled on the Fylde kit for the first time.

The pre-season schedule now ramps up a gear for AFC Fylde, with Wigan, Preston North End and Blackpool all visiting Mill Farm in the space of seven days, starting on Tuesday with Wigan.

Tickets for the three games are available online now, via our ticketing portal.
