AFC Fylde lost their quest for silverware in the Unibond Presidents Cup in Lincolnshire after falling to defeat to their Unibond South hosts.
In a game of little entertainment Lee Beeson's striker on 77 minutes was enough to see the home side secure a place in the Final against fellow Unibond South side Belper after they had beaten Skelmersdale Utd in a 3-2 thriller. It was an out of sorts Fylde who started the game brighter with key chances falling to Michael Barnes and Danny Penswick. Second half it was again Penswick who had the best chance before Stamford secured the win. The game was marred by a poor performance from official Mr Dexter who had booked 4 Fylde players and sent off Farrell Kilbane - Fylde are top of the fair play league this season and it was far from a dirty game.
