AFC Fylde reserves beat a strong Southport side 3-1 in the Galaxy Football Lancashire League at Kellamergh Park last night.
Southport had a number of players included in their squad with first team experience but Fylde's young side which included defender Matt Lawlor showed some great character and promise to take the points. Southport took the lead early on but Fylde responded with Rob Edwards floating his shot into the top corner to equalise and Scott Harries volleying home to make it 2-1 before the break. Southport came back into the game and were pressing for an equaliser but striker Isaac Kusaloka raced onto a though ball late on to chip the keeper and make it 3-1 to seal the win. |
