AFC Fylde dropped 3 valuable points at Moor Lane tonight with a 3-1 defeat despite taking an early lead.
Lewis Edge returned to the side after illness and injured skipper Joe Booth was replaced by Matt Mahoney. Striker Chris Downey returned to the Fylde line up after a long absence.
Matt Mahoney put Fylde in front on the half hour mark and should have added to their tally with Michael Barnes going close to add to their lead at the break. A new look Salford side with several new signings got themselves back into the game with Lee Neville equalising on 51 minutes. Fylde had chances through Barnes and Matty Kay to regain their lead that cost them dearly. Salford added a second on 71 minutes through speedy striker Craig Mahon from Giggs cross and Phil Doughty put through his own net on 77 minutes to condemn Fylde to defeat.
