Fylde Hockey Ladies first team completed their title-winning campaign with 4-1 victory over Durham University in the final game of the season.

The ladies sealed championship glory last weekend and another two goals from Sophia Crawshay, bringing her total to 34 for the season, saw Fylde cement their place in next season’s EHL Conference North. Steph Bedford and Leanne Sharples completed rout for Fylde.

The Ladies second team also made all but certain of their promotion at the weekend with a 7-0 victory over Longridge. They dominated the game with goals from Maddie Scullion (2), Chris Dunn, Sally Livesey, Helen Lund, Rachel McCrae and Kelly Windows.

A defeat for Lancaster University in their penultimate game leaves the challengers needing a 28-goal swing on the final day to knock Fylde off their perch.

The seconds are champions of the Lancashire Central Women’s Hockey League for a record fourth time and bounce back to the North League, securing Fylde Hockey Club as the top ladies club in the Lancashire area.

Promotion for the men’s first team too ensures that three of the six senior Hockey sides will move up a level in an incredibly successful campaign for the club.
